“Paintball” is considered one of the safest team sports. According to various studies and statistics, the average frequency of an injury is estimated to be 1 incident per 5000 players a year. This is actually true due to the existence and application of specific safety regulations and laws along with the supply and use of the necessary equipment. The most important part of this equipment is the “mask”. This ensures the safety of all tender spots in the head (eyes, nose, mouth, ears) and it is absolutely necessary during the game. Additional parts of equally vital importance are the neck protector that protects the area of the neck, the “chest protector” that by wearing one succeeds the momentum’ s slacking of the paintball bullet’ s collision on the chest and belly and of course the tiger suit that protects the clothes from getting dirty.

In the majority of paintball fields, the minimum age limit for participation in the game is 18 (or even 16, according to the country and its regulations). Under – aged are also accepted, on condition that they are at least 13 years old, they have a written consentof a parent or guardian and finally they are accompanied in the field by one of the latterly mentioned.

Paintball’ s target is not violence’ s promotion. This sports aims at the tutoring of the spirit and usefulness of the team and not individual performance in conjunction with the contribution in the improvement of a player’ s leadership qualifications. Moreover, it encourages the creation of anti – war feelings as it indicates in the most effective way how vulnerable human beings can be under war conditions. Among many safety specifications, almost each of the fields ollows and demands the application of a strictly imposed rule that astricts the paintball’ s speed limit up to 100 m / sec (300 feet per second) or less, once larger speeds may cause injuries despite the safety regulations.
